This toy is a woman in traditional Alsace costume from the region Alsace on the border of Germany and France. It is still unclear what number this should have, but we assume it should be one of the numbers 242 -243 -244.
Produced from arround 1917
Product number probebly 242
Hand lacquered
Mechanism: Clockwork
Height approx. 20 cm / 7,8 inches

It was unclear for a long time whether it would be a real Martin/Flersheim or from another manufacturer.
Fortunately, we found the existence of a black and white film where this figure can be seen, on this film are many Martin/Flersheim toys.

This woman also appears in the, probably from1917, Youtube movie https://youtu.be/8-DcWR6csy4?si=Rv1xafHFJQqlZWA5 with the French flag in the hand
